Thanksgiving at home is about the little things: a warm kitchen, familiar voices, a table that somehow needs one more chair, and dessert that makes everyone pause after the first bite.
This recipe is our sweet companion to the Imagine residential home reset. While we take care of the practical details that help your home feel ready for guests, you can focus on the good stuff. You know, like making pie.
Imagine’s Ridiculously Decadent Cream Cheese Pumpkin Pie
This is not your average pumpkin pie.
We wanted something extra rich, extra creamy, and worthy of a Thanksgiving table, so we added cream cheese, brown sugar, real whipping cream, plenty of warm fall spices, and a buttery crust.
The result? A pumpkin pie that lands somewhere between classic pumpkin pie and cheesecake: silky, creamy, warmly spiced and ridiculously decadent.
Makes: One 9-inch deep-dish pie
Serves: 8–10

🥧 The Crust
You can absolutely use your favourite homemade pie crust, but a good-quality refrigerated crust works too. We won't tell.
1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie crust
1 egg white, lightly beaten, for brushing
For an extra-decadent crust:
Before adding the filling, brush the crust lightly with beaten egg white and sprinkle the bottom with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. This helps create a beautiful barrier between the creamy filling and the crust.
🎃 Cream Cheese Pumpkin Filling
1 package (250 g / 8 oz) full-fat cream cheese, softened
1 can (398 mL / approximately 1¾ cups) pure pumpkin purée
¾ cup packed dark brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs, room temperature
¾ cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon allspice
½ teaspoon fine sea salt
The secret ingredient:
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
It doesn't make the pie taste like maple syrup. It simply gives the brown sugar and pumpkin an even deeper, almost caramel-like flavour.
🍂 Let’s Make It
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until completely smooth and fluffy. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar and beat again until creamy.
Add the pumpkin purée and mix until completely incorporated.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing just until combined after each addition.
Add the whipping cream, melted butter, vanilla and maple syrup.
Finally, add the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, allspice and salt. Mix until the filling is smooth, glossy and completely irresistible.
Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes.
Without opening the oven for too long, reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for approximately 40–50 minutes.
The outer portion of the pie should be set, but the centre should still have a gentle cheesecake-like wobble when you move the pan.
Don't wait until the entire centre looks completely firm: that's how pumpkin pie gets overbaked.
Allow the pie to cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Yes, waiting is painful.
It's worth it.

☁️ Brown Sugar Vanilla Whipped Cream
Because regular whipped cream wasn't decadent enough.
1½ cups cold heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Small pinch of sea salt
Beat everything together until soft-to-medium peaks form.
Spoon or pipe generously over each slice.
And when we say generously, we mean generously.
✨ Want to Take It Completely Over the Top?
Right before serving, finish each slice with:
A drizzle of warm salted caramel
A sprinkle of cinnamon
Toasted pecans
A tiny pinch of flaky sea salt
The combination of cold cream, silky pumpkin filling, buttery crust and warm salted caramel is outrageous.
In the best possible way.

🐾 Jimmy’s Thanksgiving Tip
Make the pie the night before Thanksgiving.
Not only does this save you from trying to bake while everything else is happening in the kitchen, but the overnight chill gives the filling time to set and lets all those pumpkin-spice, brown-sugar and cream-cheese flavours come together.
Serve it cold or let it sit at room temperature for about 20–30 minutes before serving.
That overnight rest is especially helpful if your Thanksgiving morning already includes a full list of home-preparation jobs. Once the pie is made, you can turn your attention to the table, the guests and the final touches that make the day feel special.
And if the rest of the house still needs a little help before everyone arrives, our residential services team can help with the bigger reset, from residential window cleaning to exterior washing and other property care services. The goal is simple: less rushing, more welcoming.
A Sweet Finish to the Season
There is something wonderfully familiar about pumpkin pie. It brings the whole room together. The spices, the warm crust, the extra spoonful of whipped cream: these are the details people remember.
At Imagine Maintenance, we care about those details too. Whether we are helping prepare a home for guests or simply making a property feel brighter and better cared for, the work is ultimately about how a space makes people feel.
So make the pie ahead. Add the caramel. Use the good pecans. Let someone else volunteer to wash the mixing bowls.
Happy fall from all of us at Imagine Maintenance. We hope your Thanksgiving is filled with good food, good company, and, ideally, someone else volunteering to clean the kitchen afterward.
Contact our residential team if your home needs a little pre-holiday care.
Happy Thanksgiving! 🎃🥧
